Jon Stewart takes too many vacations

I don't understand this. Other talk show hosts have longer shows, have shows 5 nights a week rather than 4, and take far fewer vacations. Jon Stewart is providing a function that is essential for our society, providing news and perspectives for a huge portion of our population. It seems irresponsible for him to go off the air so much. The least he could do is to provide some alternative outlet for the news/opinions provided on his show. I've heard so many arguments - "it's really hard to make a quality show like that", "they don't have enough writers", etc., but I don't buy any of it. It's one of the most popular shows on television. They could find writers. They could find solutions if Jon simply needs that much time off, or it's in his contract or something. Let one of the other correspondents host the show every now and then.

Another thing that really gets me about all this is that this issue has been brought up by many others before - I've done extensive searching on the net - and still noone has provided a reasonable explanation as to why it happens. It seems like that's the least they could do. But no, instead Jon just mysteriously disappears from the universe for weeks at a time with no explanation.

If anyone can offer any insight into this issue, please do.

Thanks!

this is my first blog. i'm just planning on writing stuff on here that's on my mind, wondering if anyone else is thinking the same thing.

Reality shows are stupid

My wife Dorothy watches a lot of reality shows, so I know what I'm talking about. Not for me. They're as annoying as football.
